Preparation: The Archdiocese of Denver requires a minimum eight-month preparation period before a wedding. Please ensure adequate preparation time for your wedding preparation. Due to the popularity of Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church, we recommend that you contact our Wedding Coordinator at least one year in advance to reserve your date.
Scheduling and Fee: The scheduling fee is $2,000. The fee includes the use of the church for the ceremony, the bridal room, and the rehearsal the day before. It does not include a voluntary donation to the priest or deacon (the celebrant), who witnesses the marriage, the fee for services of an organist/vocalist(s)/musician(s), or the Marriage Preparation program through the Archdiocese. It also does not include flowers, photographer, or any service other than the use of the church.
Day and Time: Weddings are scheduled on Saturdays, however, a weekday is available but must be scheduled in advance through the Wedding Coordinator.
Saturdays: 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m.
Select weekdays: Arranged through the Wedding Coordinator
Sundays and Holy Days: Only per special circumstances arranged through the Wedding Coordinator
Ceremony Timing: Wedding ceremony scheduling includes a 2 3/4 hour block of time as shown below. Florists should be instructed to deliver flowers no earlier than one hour before the ceremony. The time alloted consists of:
One hour preparation before the ceremony
One hour for the ceremony
45 minutes after the ceremony for photography and clean-up
NOTE: On Saturdays, Reconciliation at Our Lady of the Mountains starts at 3:00 pm so the wedding party must vacate the church by no later than 2:45 pm.
If you will be holding your reception at Our Lady of the Mountains, use of the reception facilities will also be scheduled through the Wedding Coordinator.
Rehearsal: Rehearsals are scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Fridays, the day before a typical Saturday wedding and take approximately one hour. The Wedding Coordinator will conduct the rehearsal. No outside wedding planners are allowed to run rehearsals. Scheduling of the rehearsal will be set when the wedding is scheduled.
NOTE: Please bring your marriage license to the rehearsal as the wedding cannot take place without the license.
Bridal Room: The bridal room is for the convenience of the bride and her attendants. Bridemaids should come fully dressed. The Bridal Room, which includes mirrors, can be used for hair and makeup touch-ups as necessary. The Bridal Room is available one hour prior to the ceremony and for ½ hour after the wedding. The room must be cleaned and straightened up after the ceremony. Our Lady of the Mountains is not liable for any lost or stolen items.
Wedding Receptions: Please see additional information here regarding our Reception Facilities.
Celebrant and Musicians: The wedding package does not include a celebrant (priest/deacon) or organist/musician(s)/ vocalist(s). Couples must contact a celebrant for the ceremony and musician(s)/vocalist(s) on their own. The Wedding Coordinator is able to provide contacts and advice as needed.
If this is not your first marriage, please be aware that time must be given for a possible annulment procedure. Archdiocesan law prohibits the scheduling of a wedding until the annulment process is complete and an affirmative decision has been given.
